Citrosol's Postharvest Adviser took part in the 9th Postharvest Technology Course – Citrus fruits and emerging crops in the Mediterranean region with a highly practical talk that was very well received.
Potries, March 9, 2026. The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering and the Environment (ETSIAMN), and Poscosecha.com have organized the 9th Post-Harvest Technology Course – Citrus fruits and emerging crops in the Mediterranean region, which is taking place from January 21 to March 6, 2026. Citrosol has once again sponsored the course, demonstrating its support for specialized training and knowledge transfer to the sector.
The course, which aimed to provide comprehensive and specialized training in conservation, processing, and packaging technology for the most important crops in the Mediterranean area, such as citrus fruits, persimmons, avocados, kiwis, pomegranates, stone fruits, berries, nuts, and vegetables, among others, was attended on February 13 by Benito Orihuel, Postharvest Adviser at Citrosol.
On this occasion, Orihuel spoke about "Post-harvest treatments in citrus fruits: from the laboratory to fruit and vegetable processing plants." It was a very practical session that allowed attendees to connect scientific evidence with its application in fruit and vegetable processing plants. During the talk, Benito Orihuel focused on important aspects such as rot control and its impact on losses and claims, the correct application of treatment, and fungicide resistance, presenting Citrosol's innovative technology: the CATsystem, which controls and corrects, in real time, the decreases that occur in drenchers, waterfalls, and ponds, both in the concentrations of fungicides and in the disinfectants used in the mixtures.
A session held halfway through this new edition of the Post-Harvest Technology Course – Citrus fruits and emerging crops in the Mediterranean region, supported by Citrosol, which ends this week and has been very well received by the academic and professional public.
