The Valencian company is a pioneer in obtaining this recognition for the reduction of its carbon footprint for two consecutive years, reflecting its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability..

CITROSOL, a leading company in post-harvest fruit and vegetable treatments and technology, has received for the second consecutive year the "Calculo-Reduzco" seal after having registered its carbon footprint in the Registry of carbon footprint, compensation andCO2 absorption projects of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, for calculating and registering its carbon footprint for five years and complying with the plan for the reduction of its emissions.

"We are incredibly proud to announce that CITROSOL, has once again obtained the "Calculo-Reduzco" seal awarded by the Spanish Office for Climate Change of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This seal is awarded to organizations that calculate and record their carbon footprint for a minimum of four years, have a GHG emissions reduction plan and make this reduction commitment effective with Miteco validation. This recognition is the result of our firm commitment to sustainability and the reduction of our environmental footprint," says Jorge Bretó, CEO of CITROSOL.

In fact, this voluntary seal allows organizations not only to show their commitment to the fight against climate change, but also to promote the assessment and reduction of the carbon footprint, as well as to support projects aimed at improving the carbon absorption capacity in Spain. Regarding the role of organizations in this challenge, Bretó assures that "at CITROSOL, we firmly believe that companies have a responsibility to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. That is why we have implemented rigorous sustainable policies and practices in all our operations, from production to distribution".

CITROSOL has decreased by 24.6% of the average emission intensity in the three-year period 2020-2022 with respect to the three-year period 2019-2021, for Scope 1 + 2 Moreover, when comparing the indicator with respect to the production corresponding to the year 2018, which reflected 84.09 kg ofCO2 per ton produced, with the same indicator for the year 2022, which registers 36.08 a reduction of 57.1% in Scope 1 and 2 emissions can be appreciated. As the company's CEO assures, "this validation seal not only ratifies our past efforts, but also inspires us to move forward in our sustainability journey. We will continue to look for new ways to reduce our carbon footprint, adopt innovative technologies, optimize our processes and work closely with our partners and suppliers to promote sustainable practices throughout our supply chain."
