Citrosol introduces CATsystem®, the first Automatic Control System for Post-harvest In-Line Treatments

The Valencian company is a world pioneer in the creation of a system that will be presented on June 27th at the VI Conference on technology at the service of the agri-food sector of the UPV.

The Valencian company Citrosol will present the first Automatic Control System of fungicide treatments in the world, the CATsystem®, at the VI Conference on technology at the service of the agri-food sector of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

The conference, which will be held on Thursday, June 27 in the auditorium of the Polytechnic City of Innovation (Blue Cube) of the UPV, will feature a lecture by Xavi Parra, PhD and director of R+D+i of Citrosol, with the title "Precision postharvest: 4.0 technologies for the application of treatments with recycling of broths".

The presentation will focus on explaining the impact of the technological innovation of the CATsystem® in the context of the agricultural sector. A giant step forward in the development of the concept of "precision post-harvest" that Citrosol highlighted in 2010 with the launch of the Citrosol Zero Waste®. The current situation of food waste, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sector, will be discussed. Success stories of the system will also be shown, with examples of real operation offering analysis and corrections data extracted from the records of the pilots.

CATsystem®

CATsystem® is the world's first automatic control system for fungicide treatments. This system makes it possible to keep the concentration of fungicides, disinfectants and food additives in post-harvest treatment broths constant within a defined range of values.

There is no similar system on the market. CATsystem® is, therefore, a disruptive innovation in the application of post-harvest treatments. A tool that will propel Citrosol as the undisputed leader in post-harvest worldwide.

CATsystem® is capable of maintaining constant fungicide concentrations, analyzing and correcting the treatment broth in real time to optimize rot control. It also prevents the development of resistance, which is essential, especially when only one active ingredient is used.

Objectives

Citrosol 's objectives with the launch of CATsystem® cover different areas: to remain at the forefront of innovation and development in post-harvest; to automate and control the treatment in real time; to detect both the malfunction of the doser and human errors of the operators; to take the control of rotting to a higher level; to increase the customer's economic savings by reducing wastage and claims; to implement a resistance control when using a single active ingredient. And, last but not least, to offer greater peace of mind to the customer.
