Cleaning and disinfection

Good maintenance is key, daily cleaning and disinfection of line elements and of processing machinery and, especially, of the cold rooms in manufacturing and storage premises (walls, ceilings and floors, including sink waste pipes and drain grills) are essential. Elements linked to transport: boxes, pallets, containers and trailers must also be cleaned and disinfected after use.

The establishment and application of the right Cleaning and Disinfection (C&D) programs within the industry leads to avoidance of the risk of cross-contamination by microorganisms pathogenic in humans.

For those reasons, cleaning and disinfection of cold rooms is crucial as they can be a reservoir of pathogenic microorganisms.
