Citrosol was invited specially to participate in this event, in which Raúl Perelló, International Sales Manager, and Juanjo Ferrandis, Easy Kit Manager, gave a presentation on ‘precision post-harvest’. It is the most relevant technical forum in the largest country in Oceania held every two years and, in this edition, broke its participation record with over 400 professionals registering.
At the Citrus Australian Forum, conferences and technical talks were complemented with a dedicated post-harvest exhibition area. Citrosol attended the exhibition hall with our distributor, Colin Campbell, whose stand exhibited the revolutionary, portable, Easy Kit® laboratory, with which rapid residue analysis can be carried out on site.
The event, held in the Southern Hemisphere, was a discussion forum and technical presentations organized by Citrus Australia, an organization that brings together the majority of citrus growers and packers in Australia. The forum addressed technical issues, both pre and post-harvest, comprising presentations by local and international speakers, such as representatives of the Spanish company, Citrosol.
“The forum has been extremely interesting as, in addition to the technical presentations, open discussion spaces were attended by professionals where we could share our vision of the challenges facing the sector, including smaller debate circles in dedicated spaces“, explained Raúl Perelló.
Citrosol’s precision technologies
“The attending professionals were very receptive to the contribution afforded by new technologies, especially those that reduce variability in post-harvest treatments, as is the case of our Vertido Cero®“, Perelló recounted, “disinfection was also a topic discussed by other speakers at the forum, in this case our Citrocide on-line® generated great interest due to the high level of efficiency achieved in disinfection of the washing machine“.
Citrocide® online acts as a firewall, continuously disinfecting the washing machine, eliminating all types of pathogens and resulting in improved food safety, reduced quantities of inoculum in both the fruit and the washing machine and thus contributing to the elimination of any resistance that may exist.
For its part, the portable Easy Kit® system guarantees a quick (less than 1 hour), accurate, on-site measurement of Imazalil, Pyrimethanil and Orthophenylphenol in water, wax and fruit.
Residues on the fruit: verification of compliance with the MLR at destination or specific distribution requirements, providing significant control over the final product and great flexibility for the customer.
Concentration in water: control of the concentration of fungicides in drains, flooders and tanks. Easy kit® allows one to react quickly to correct concentrations when they are not right. High concentrations can lead to exceeding residues on the fruit and low concentrations can lead to decomposition problems.
Concentration in wax: check the correct dosage and mix of the fungicides added to the wax. Good control of wax fungicide concentrations is crucial to control decomposition at destination and the residue on the fruit.
Although Easy kit® will represent a before and after in the analysis of residues in situ, another of Citrosol’s developments, revolutionary in its day, which was very well received in Australia, is the sistema Vertido Cero®, which maintains the critical parameters of the “solutions” constant, achieving maximum effectiveness for fungicide treatments.
This system, coupled to drenchers and tanks, sustains the efficacy of the treatment, achieving maximum decay control and full reuse of the fungicide solutions, avoiding wastage and/or the need to purify them. In addition, by guaranteeing the most appropriate dose of active substances, it minimizes the emergence of resistance and contributes decisively to reducing the number of active substances necessary to control citrus fruit decay.
The Valencian company, Citrosol, has taken the latest Post-Harvest technology and developments to the other side of the world under the framework of the Citrus Australian Forum. Citrocide on-line®, the Easy Kit® and the Vertido Cero® systems stand out among the ‘precision post-harvest’ tools that have aroused the most interest among the professional public.

Everything that we have experienced as human beings, as entities, is associated with a moment in that time axis that marks the life history of each one, and as a survival mechanism lesson, to reinforce or to forget our experiences.

However, the lessons of the pandemic have been turned to our favor with Citrosol taking measures to guarantee our stock of raw materials such that we will be able to supply our customers even in contexts as complex as the current one. Within this framework, Raúl Perelló explained the importance of communication when it comes to making Citrosol products known to users in its international markets, such as the importance of having a catalog that makes it possible for marketers to have their produce arrive on the other side of the world in the best condition possible.
