Citrosol, through its subsidiary FLC Technologies, has purchased the production units of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica. With this acquisition, Citrosol is reinforcing the strong organic growth developed over recent years, now penetrating business segments such as pip fruit, an area yet to be exploited.
Citrosol, leader in post-harvest treatments and technologies for Fruit and Vegetable produce in the Mediterranean basin and Peru, and with high penetration in countries such as South Africa, has just completed the process of acquiring Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica, companies with a significant market share in Spain and other countries.
The incorporation of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica will allow Citrosol to position itself in other business segments such as pip fruit and tubers, and to extend into some Asian and Latin American countries where it was not previously represented or where its penetration is still low. Likewise, it will be able to reinforce its service to an increasingly global clientele with manufacturing centers in various countries.
Advice to Citrosol pertaining to the purchase of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica has been provided by the law firm, Villena & Asociados, specialists in company acquisition and sale transactions.
Jorge Bretó, General Director of Citrosol, pointed out: “The incorporation of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica into our organization is important in our growth strategy and in our contribution of value to the market. Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica have always been client focused, with corporate cultures very similar to our own. From the outset of the acquisition process, Citrosol has been preparing to increase the value contribution to Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica’s current client base”.
Quico Cerdá, Sole Administrator of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica, stated that: “Citrosol team’s capacity for service and innovation will provide our customers with greater added value and will be an important step for the professional growth of our staff; the contribution of these aspects and the combination of our portfolio of products and equipment with those of Citrosol will be important elements to allow a Valencian company to become a worldwide benchmark within the sector”.
Juanjo Febrer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Citrosol declared that: “This acquisition is a milestone for us; we are very proud of our management teams who, with the support of the Board of Directors, have made the development and sustained growth of Citrosol in recent years possible, confirming the appropriateness of our corporate culture focusing on adding value to the customer right from the start of Citrosol’s activity in Spain in the 1960s”.
